Your role at Baxter:

You, as Manufacturing Engineer I, will handle incorporating existing processes transferred from Baxter locations elsewhere. You will also develop and keep improving mechanical device manufacturing processes. You may tackle complete project oversight involving major initiatives within the niche area. Accountable for combining existing workflows (acquired from other Baxter sites) and development and ongoing improvement of manufacturing operations for mechanical devices. May have complete project responsibility for significant projects within niche area.

What you will be doing:

  • Apply experience, training and acquired engineering techniques to tackle problems encountered in build, redesign or fixing.
  • May supervise and/or give technical and safety direction or mentorship to peers, technicians, drafters, model makers and others. May serve as project leader.
  • Meet with external suppliers to exchange information and to assist with more difficult technical problems.
  • Participate in project planning and may advise portions of smaller projects or segments of large projects to include scheduling, supervising costs, resources, workforce loading, etc.
  • Integration of existing processes (through transfer from different Baxter locations) along with the creation and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes related to mechanical equipment.
  • Build and implementation of production fixtures/tools and inspection equipment as the need arises.
  • Capacity (equipment, labor, space) and maintenance planning and strategies
  • Production yield, efficiency, downtime tracking and corrective action.
  • Coordination of activities associated with the transfer to a new manufacturing site.
  • Cycle time estimation, tracking and development of production routers.
  • Develop and maintenance of Manufacturing Process Instructions (process sheets, MPS), routers and bill of materials.
  • Development and completion of process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ/TMV), while ensuring that changes made to specifications, methods, processes or procedures are verified or, where appropriate, validated according to standard operating procedures and QSR’s element 820.75, before implementation.
  • Participates in CPE projects, and product and process validation and verification according to quality system procedures.
  • May lead or participate in CAPA activities with interpersonal and group operations’ management. This involves conducting, determining, and verifying corrective actions. These actions are vital to ensure compliance with division policy, Title 21 CFR Part 820, and ISO 13485.
  • Responsible for monitoring, identifying tendencies, investigating and solving problems related to manufacturing processes such as SCRAP. Efficiency and FPY.

  • What will you bring?
  • Mechanical Engineer, Mechatronic Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electromechanics Engineer, Systems Engineer or similar.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a related position.
  • Experience in problem solving, project management, lean practices, six sigma, line transfers. Experience working in ISO / FDA supervised environments and GMP’s.
  • Bilingual: Oral and written communication in English required
