Your Impact in This Role

  • Step into a global leadership role where your expertise in Accounts Payable drives operational excellence across UCAN, EMEA, and APAC. Reporting directly to the Global AP Associate Director, you’ll lead a diverse team, safeguard financial accuracy, and ensure vendors are paid on time. This is your chance to influence global processes, partner with senior stakeholders, and make a measurable impact on Baxter’s mission to save and sustain lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team.
  • Coordinate workforce planning, capacity management, and follow‑the‑sun coverage with global AP teams.
  • Build a culture of accountability, control, and continuous improvement.
  • Own end‑to‑end payment cycles across UCAN, EMEA, and APAC, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Strengthen cash flow management by improving VPPT and POT while minimizing early payments.
  • Maintain a robust payment control framework with clear approvals, segregation of duties, and audit evidence.
  • Partner with Treasury on funding, FX settlements, and liquidity optimization.
  • Safeguard AP sub‑ledger integrity and ensure accurate GL tie‑outs.
  • Lead AP month‑end close activities, ensuring timely reporting and risk‑free outcomes.
  • Lead AP reconciliations in BlackLine, resolving aged items at root cause.
  • Support audits, statutory reporting, and tax compliance (VAT/GST/WHT).
  • Drive process standardization and eliminate unnecessary regional variations.
  • Champion automation and continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Prepare reporting packages and deliver insights that shape leadership decisions.
  • Flex working hours during key periods such as payment cycles and month‑end close.

    What You’ll Bring

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred).
    • 5+ years of people management experience in Accounts Payable or related functions.
    • Strong expertise in AP processes, accounting principles, and compliance frameworks (US GAAP/IFRS, SOX, indirect tax).
    • Shown success in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma experience valued).
    • Ability to operate independently and guide others in complex scenarios.
    • Solid knowledge of change management and transition handling.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage team members globally.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to meet tight deadlines.
    • Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic, evolving environment.
    • Collaboration skills to inspire change and influence across teams.
    • Understanding of internal controls, particularly SOX within the P2P cycle.
    • Proficiency with financial systems (COUPA, JDE, PEGA, TARGET II, Microsoft Office).
    • Lean Six Sigma / Belt certification is a plus.
