SUMMARY OF POSITION Maintain Fill & Pack equipment in optimal condition to assure normal operation of the packaging line during the filling and packaging activities for liquid anesthetics Desflurane, Isoflurane, Sevoflurane from Halocarbon, Sevoflurane and any other company product in their different trademarks, in compliance with cGMP, FDA regulations, safety and Baxter Health Care Standard Operating Procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

1. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production line machine to maintain the normal operations of the packaging line.  Follow and comply with spare parts inventories system as specified by the maintenance department.

2. Assist Fill and Pack operators in the performance of minor troubleshooting and adjustment that will increase line efficiency.

3. Provide maintenance and perform software changes on programmable logic controllers installed in the packaging equipment. Responsible for reporting unrepairable machinery or equipment as well as diagnosing problems and implement corrective applicable knowledge.

4. Train F&P set up operators and mechanics to perform minor troubleshooting and adjustments that will increase line efficiency. Provide maintenance and perform any software changes on all programmable logic controllers installed in the packaging equipment. Assist in engineering trial and product/equipment qualification. Attend factory acceptance test activities at equipment supplier facilities.

5. Serve as back up to Lead Technician during absence or vacations. Document repairs made to equipment in work orders and perform preventive maintenance o a F&P equipment as per SOP and production specials. Perform manufacturing operations and operate equipment/machine by following standard operating procedures adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP's).

6. Manufacturing Technician must be capable of operate multidisciplinary activities including 100% of the station at packaging lines 100% of clerical activities. Be an active member of the Emergency Response Brigade and attend the required trainings and Medical Surveillance requirements associated with the Brigade.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read and understand English & Spanish

Ability to operate electronic equipment.

Capable of operating automatic and semi-automatic equipment

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

REGULATIONS:

Compressive knowledge of cGMP, FDA and EHS regulations

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION AND OTHER BACKGROUND

Computer literate (Word, Excel and Power point)

Ability to operate electronic equipment.

Capable of operating automatic and semi automatic equipment

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays

Be able to interpret and apply maintenance, repair, inspection and compliance codes and standards

 Able to interpret and convert units of measure such as:  temperature, pressure flow, area mass, distance, volume and other.

Mathematical reasoning:   add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages as well as able to use a calculator or other associated electronic equipment

Ability to follow written procedures and/or verbal instructions communications by telephone, fax or shortwave radios

Basic pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge

Ability to understand technical drawings

Basic machine/software platform/equipment troubleshooting skills

Power distribution system (Pds) knowledge

Electrical work experience or certification

Knowledge of TPM (Total Predictive Maintenance) and TPR (Total Process Reliability)

Knowledge related to programmable logic controllers (PLC)

EDUCATION:

Technical Diploma or associate degree; bachelor's degree preferred

EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) to five (5) years' experience
