The Role

An outstanding opportunity for a Sales Specialist has arisen to join our Baxter Pharmaceutical team based in Perth, Western Australia. In this role, you will engage with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) across various accounts and departments working on our Ready-to-Use (RTU) Premix, Volatile Anaesthesia and Injectables portfolio managing WA, SA and NT territories.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will uncover, identify, and convert sales opportunities into successful customers through face-to-face pre-planned field meetings, product in-service and presentations to achieve sales targets across the assigned territory. Key customers will include Hospital Pharmacists, Medication Safety Officers, Purchasing/Procurement Officers, Nurse Unit Managers (NUM) and Clinicians in care settings such as Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Operating Theatre (OT), Recovery and Cath lab.

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven professional who is dedicated to improving patient outcomes and contributing to the advancement of patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Engage with HCPs including Hospital Pharmacists, Medication Safety Officers, Purchasing Officers, Nurse Unit Managers, Nurse Educators, and Clinicians in acute care settings to deliver key messages in medication safety

  • Uncover, Identify and convert sales opportunities from targeted accounts through f2f pre-planned meetings to meet territory’s sales growth target

  • Educate customers on Baxter’s Medication range and its benefits in Medication and Patient Safety through regular in-services and presentations

  • Conduct regular business reviews with the identified key healthcare stakeholders on the use of Baxter Pharmaceutical ranges and seek opportunities that meet local guidelines

  • Engage with Medication Safety governance to keep up to date with changes in local policies and recommendations

  • Respond timely to Medication shortages where Baxter’s Premix Medication and compounding services can be an alternative solution.

  • Regularly review and update the sales funnel to reflect current opportunities and accurately forecast future sales

  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial and profitable business relationships with both external and internal customers

  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Manager and Marketing team on participating in local tenders and monitor its compliance.

  • Work with Baxter Sales and Education specialists and Compounding Sales Specialists to expand customer access and exchange knowledge across the business

  • Represent Baxter Healthcare during customer meetings, in-services, and presentations.

Key Requirements

  • Tertiary education in Medical Science, Nursing, Business or related fields

  • Proven experience in Hospital sales and/or good understanding of hospital compounding in acute care settings will be an advantage

  • Proven ability to function as part of a high-performing commercial team

  • Excellent skills in establishing strong connections and serving as a persuasive negotiator who can engage collaborators and decision-makers at all levels

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills to convey technical and conceptual information

  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills with demonstrated initiative and drive to achieve results.

  • Ability to work autonomously with a strong drive and determination to succeed

  • Strong customer focus with a passion for delivering flawless customer satisfaction

  • Professional approach to the direction and implementation of ideas and programs

  • Interest in continuous learning and development while working collaboratively in a team

  • Understanding of adult learning principles

  • Flexibility with working hours and willingness to undertake interstate travel when required

  • Valid Driver’s Licence.
