Job Summary

Job Title – Sr Mgr, Interoperability

Location – Whitefield, Bangalore

Join Baxter in our mission to save and sustain lives by developing high quality medical devices for hospital and home use. These devices include infusion pumps and patient monitoring equipment. As Senior System Interoperability Engineering Manager, you will manage the technical team in the application of standard system engineering principles, methods, and techniques (Requirements Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management) to achieve seamless digital interoperation of Baxter devices with other Baxter devices and 3rd parties. You will plan and manage project assignments in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria with minimal guidance.

You will execute the System Interoperability Engineering vision that aligns with the Medication Delivery organization's vision and strategic plan. With your solid understanding of engineering theory and best-practice in a variety of disciplines, you will manage complex interoperability and connectivity projects or programs within boundaries of quality, time and budget. You will provide direction to talented technical leaders that are accountable for complex designs and exhibit creativity and innovation in completing divisional and cross-functional/business unit goals and objectives.

 Job  Responsibilities:

  • Managing Interoperability and connectivity of the organizations portfolio of products through clear definition of interface specifications and test methods that ensure cohesive and secure integration of internal and external products throughout the product lifecycles.

  • Functional management of Systems Engineers, Verification Engineers, and Digital Interface Technical Leaders.

  • Develop and implement a global interoperability testing strategy.

  • Develop and retain talent for the interoperability organization locally.

  • Drive mature interoperability to enable future digital product solutions.

  • Direct technical subject matter experts on multiple programs who are responsible for the following:  

  • Interoperability and connectivity related user requirements.

  • External and custom interface specifications and associated test methods.

  • Collaboration with cross-business peers to facilitate device interoperability across the company.

  • Product features that rely upon interoperability throughout the development process and the product lifecycle

  • Testing systems of systems to ensure deployment scenarios operate as intended.

  • Owning key digital interfaces, achieving exceptional performance in a wide variety of customer environments.

  • Defining the compatibility of products with each other and external systems.

  • Certification of interoperable interfaces with 3rd party partners.

Qualifications & Skills

  • BS in relevant engineering disciplines, MS preferred, 15+ years of experience.

  • Must be experienced areas of System Engineering, particularly requirements and test/verification.

  • Must be experienced with managing digital interfaces, interoperability, and/or connectivity of devices.

  • Requires strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel. 

  • Must be able to provide solutions that reflect understanding business objectives and cost implications.  

  • Experience with requirements management, design control requirements (CFR 820.30, ISO 13485), risk management (ISO 14971), and regulatory interoperability guidance are nice to have. 

  • Experience in application of DFSS, DMAIC and CMII techniques/principles are plusses. 

  • Proven track record of management/leadership effectiveness.
