Here, you will find more than just a job—you will find purpose and pride.

Your team

You’ll join Baxter’s Global Design team, a group of creative, inquisitive individuals who thrive in a collaborative environment. Together, we approach complex challenges across Baxter’s medical device portfolio, partnering closely with product development teams to shape innovative product features and enhancements.

In this fast-paced R&D setting, you’ll experience a mix of structured priorities and flexible problem‑solving, all while contributing to a positive and supportive team culture.

As a Co-op, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced designers, contribute your own creativity, and manage your time as you grow your skills in User Interface design, concept visualization, and product labeling.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Work closely with product development teams to ideate and conceptualize new product features and enhancements within Baxter’s medical device portfolio.

  • Provide hands-on design support with a focus on concept visualization, User Interface design/development, and product labeling.

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to understand design requirements, brainstorm solutions, and create graphics and visual assets.

  • Support the Global Design team (based in Batesville, IN) by taking direction on priorities, tasks, and project deliverables.

  • Interact with cross-functional R&D teams, including New Product Development, Sustaining Engineering, Marketing, and Market Research.

  • Translate ideas and feedback into presentation materials such as PowerPoint slides, images, and interactive demos.

  • Contribute to user-centered design activities; exposure to User Testing or Usability Engineering is a plus.

  • Work in a hybrid environment with some flexibility depending on project needs (minimum of 3 onsite days per week required).

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Currently enrolled full‑time in a B.S. or B.A. program in Industrial Design, Visual Communication (Graphic Design), HCI, or a related major.

  • Ability to apply Human‑Computer Interaction principles to UI concept development.

  • Proficiency in Mac and PC environments preferred.

  • Experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

  • Advanced skills in 2D graphics/illustration software — Adobe Creative Suite strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of Figma is a strong plus; familiarity with Adobe XD, ZeroHeight, and KeyShot/Strata 3D is a plus.

  • Some exposure to 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidEdge) is beneficial.

  • Ability to create presentation materials and visuals based on customer input.

  • Sketching ability is a plus.

  • Must provide a portfolio or work samples for consideration.
