The following are dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, jumpsuit, hood, hairnet, beard cover, gloves, isolation mask and boots (additional PPE required when cleaning)

  • Constant or intermittent exposure to elevated levels of noise
  • Involves working around equipment, machinery, and belts

What You'll Be Doing

Operate, monitor, and make adjustments as necessary to manual and automated filling equipment and machines using controls on an electrical control panel (HMI) or by way of manual adjustments. Perform minor routine and preventative maintenance such as alignment adjustments, replacement of machine parts cleaning and lubrication while supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Investigate, identify, and correct or escalate any inefficiency in the machine’s performance including mechanical wear, alignment, adjustment, and setup issues. Develop standard work for troubleshooting and setup/changeovers.

Read blueprints and use tools to measure the product, ensuring the output meets specifications, making adjustments/repairs as needed. Perform and document scheduled cleaning activities, assist in Quality Improvements or VIP programs if required. Employees will be assessed throughout the program and their job performance to ensure they are successfully learning the necessary skills and qualifications.

Responsibilities carried out daily

  • Observe operation to ensure machine are functioning according to specifications and make all necessary adjustments.
  • Responsible for the majority of all maintenance carried out on filling machines and ancillary equipment.
  • Repair, setup & adjust and be able to maintain equipment to operate per spec.
  • Responsible for trouble shooting and minor repairs of; APF, Rovema Emplex and Multi-up machines, Motoman Fanuc Robots, conveyors, and Manual Fill equipment
  • Daily fault finding and resolving of all issues for optimum quality and output performance.
  • Work to area SOP and GMP standards and maintain audit points.
  • Support EMS implementation which includes maintaining the department in 6S condition, tracking production, identifying root cause and counter measures, and participating in the IDEAS program.
  • Complete basic Preventative Maintenance on equipment and active participation in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) teams and improvements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly, and annually)

Duties performed on a continual or intermittent basis

  • Learn, understand and apply detailed quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
  • Maintain all spare parts are in working order.
  • Apply the Computer Maintenance Management System Maximo.

  • Flexibility to work overtime as required.
  • Must work Summer and Winter Shutdowns.
  • Experience in successfully trouble shooting mechanical problems.
  • Experience in working effectively both independently, and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to be proactive and self-motivated on the job
  • This function requires a strong level of mechanical competence and creativity.
  • Demonstrated ability to detail data accurately per CA GPP 80.
  • Must have the ability to comprehend Baxter Specifications / SOP’s and determine appropriate corrective actions

Preferred:

  • Technical experience
  • Manufacturing/Quality experience in a GMP environment
  • Experience in food or manufacturing industry
  • Previous experience working with complex manufacturing equipment, showcasing mechanical abilities.
  • APF, Rovema machines.
  • Previous experience using the AS400 system.
  • Identify and implement VIP opportunities
