Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and drive US GAAP, local statutory, and tax accounting and reporting for the assigned legal entities, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, completeness, compliance, and timeliness.

  • Lead the preparation and review of local GAAP statutory financial statements, including consolidated financial statements, while coordinating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to obtain and validate financial information.

  • Manage the calculation and review of tax provisions and accruals in accordance with local tax legislation and corporate policies, partnering closely with the internal Tax function to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.

  • Prepare and file corporate income tax returns and related tax compliance obligations, collaborating with external advisors and authorities, as necessary.

  • Perform and review account reconciliations, ensuring all balances are fully supported, risks are identified proactively, and issues are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, and business stakeholders regarding accounting, reporting, and tax matters.

  • Drive the resolution of complex accounting, statutory, and tax matters by applying strong technical expertise and professional judgment.

  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, internal controls, SOX requirements (where applicable), audit standards, and local statutory regulations while continuously strengthening the control environment.

  • Build, maintain, and influence strong relationships across Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Shared Services, and external service providers to ensure seamless end-to-end financial processes.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate processes, actively driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

  • Support and lead local, regional, and global finance transformation projects, system implementations, and business initiatives as required.

  • Serve as a Finance ambassador by promoting a culture of accountability, compliance, collaboration, and continuous development.

  • Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualification preferred (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, tax, or external audit within a multinational environment.

  • Strong experience managing statutory reporting, tax compliance, and financial statements across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP, and corporate tax regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced, and matrixed multinational organization.

  • Experience partnering with auditors, tax authorities, and external advisors.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of financial systems and reporting tools.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The minimum salary for this position is 176 000,00 PLN annually. Your initial pay could be at the minimum or higher based on skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors, all of which are subject to change. This position may also be eligible for competitive benefits, discretionary bonuses, and/or long-term incentive.
