In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead and inspire a team dedicated to flawless production and world-class manufacturing. Your contributions will be pivotal in driving continuous improvement and achieving exceptional results.

Supports the Value Stream Manager in the following activities:

  • Create current state value stream map of the end-to-end value stream(s).
  • Lead resources to analyze the current state map based on facts. Then create a future state map using lean techniques. These techniques eliminate waste and improve the process.
  • Create a plan to achieve the future state and lead the implementation of the plan.
  • Manage routine tasks within the value stream to ensure that ongoing obligations are fulfilled as progress is made.
  • Ensure that improvement metrics related to: Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Inventory are being met including 5S scores and other critical value stream metrics.
  • Work with teams and use Lean tools to make continuous improvements.
  • Plan & support Kaizen events.
  • Create a motivated work environment to support Lean objectives.
  • Provide motivational leadership and communication to all team associates to ensure understanding and attainment of SQDCI performance objectives.
  • Employ, drive and promote understanding of Lean tools and principles to ensure the delivery of business objectives and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop world-class operations organization by providing training, coaching and counseling as appropriate.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels, quality and quantity, to meet customer requirements and achieve productivity targets.
  • Establish, observe and share visual data for the area; act on this information by detecting challenges, addressing them, and advancing process control.
  • Develop and support teams that make suggestions, take initiative and actively implement improvements.
  • Build strong alliances across all functions and is strategic liaison to Product Management, Sales, Customer Service, Design Engineering.
  • Capacity (equipment, labor, space) and maintenance planning and strategies.
  • Production yield, productivity, downtime tracking and corrective action.
  • Apply experience, training and acquired engineering techniques to solve problems encountered in design, redesign or troubleshooting.
  • May supervise and/or give technical and safety direction or guidance to peers, technicians, designers, drafters, model makers and others. May serve as project leader.
  • Participate in project planning and may direct portions of smaller projects or segments of large projects to include scheduling, monitoring costs, resources, workforce loading, etc.
  • Integration of existing processes (via transfer from other Welch Allyn sites) and development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for mechanical devices.
  • Cycle time estimation, tracking and development of production routers.
  • Meet with external customers and suppliers to exchange information and to assist with more difficult technical problems.
  • Design and implementation of production fixtures/tools and inspection equipment as required.
  • Coordination of tasks associated with transferring manufacturing to a new production location.
  • Develop and maintenance of Manufacturing Process Instructions (process sheets, MPS), routers and bill of materials.
  • Development and completion of process validation. Changes to specifications, methods, processes, or procedures must be verified or validated before implementation. This is done following standard operating procedures and QSR’s element 820.75.
  • Participates in CPE projects, and product and process validation and verification according to quality system procedures.
  • May lead or participate with organizational and group operations’ management in CAPA activities by conducting, determining, and verifying corrective actions. These actions ensure continued compliance with division policy and procedures, Federal regulations under Title 21 CFR Part 820, and ISO 13485.
  • In charge of tracking, spotting trends, analyzing, and addressing challenges associated with manufacturing operations.
