Summary

The HST Clinical Specialist is responsible for providing advanced clinical, technical, and application expertise across the HST portfolio. The role serves as a key clinical authority supporting sales, tender activities, and large‑scale projects throughout the customer lifecycle.

Acting as the primary clinical interface with healthcare professionals, the Clinical Specialist engages with surgeons, clinical teams, and hospital stakeholders to support solution design, evaluations, demonstrations, and clinical adoption. The role also supports internal teams through training, clinical strategy input, and on‑site execution, ensuring safe, effective, and optimized use of HST solutions while contributing directly to business growth and customer satisfaction.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Clinical & Application Leadership: Serve as the senior clinical and application expert for the HST portfolio, providing authoritative support during evaluations, trials, installations, and post‑installation optimization.

Sales & Tender Support: Partner closely with Sales Managers, Territory Sales Leads, and Senior Product Specialists to support complex sales cycles, turnkey projects, and tenders by delivering clinical value positioning, solution design input, and customer-facing clinical expertise.

Clinical Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong professional relationships with surgeons, operating room staff, anesthesia teams, and nursing leadership, acting as a trusted clinical advisor and escalation point for complex clinical discussions.

Product Demonstrations & Evaluations: Lead and execute advanced product demonstrations, clinical trials, and proof‑of‑concept activities, ensuring solutions are correctly configured and aligned to clinical workflows and customer needs.

Installation, Go‑Live & Project Support: Support large and complex installations, including OR integrations and new hospital projects, ensuring smooth go‑live activities, user readiness, and early clinical adoption in collaboration with Service and Engineering teams.

Clinical Training & Education: Deliver structured clinical and application training sessions for end‑users, distributors, and internal teams, enhancing product knowledge, safe usage, and long‑term customer success.

Internal Capability Building: Support internal sales and product teams through coaching, field accompaniment, and knowledge transfer, strengthening clinical competence across the commercial organization.

Customer Experience & Issue Resolution: Act as a key point of support for resolving clinical or application‑related issues, coordinating with service, engineering, and product teams to ensure timely and effective resolution.

Clinical Insight & Feedback Loop: Capture and communicate clinical feedback, workflow insights, and user experience inputs to management and regional teams to support continuous improvement of product design, positioning, and clinical messaging.

Compliance & Patient Safety: Ensure all clinical activities adhere to medical device regulations, local laws, company quality systems, and patient safety standards, maintaining professional ethical conduct at all times.

Support for Market Development Activities: Participate in workshops, clinical events, trainings, and congresses to represent HST clinical expertise and support market education initiatives.

  • Pharmacovigilance & Adverse Event (AE) Reporting (Critical Responsibility)
  • Identification, collection and reporting of any safety information, including adverse events to any Baxter product,

  • Ensure reporting within one (1) business day to PV department,

  • Collecting of minimum information:

    • Patient information (initials, age, gender),

    • Reporter information,

    • Product information like name, batch/lot numbers, route and date of administration,

    • Event information (onset date, outcome),

  • Educate customers on importance of safety reporting and vigilance.

Skills/Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical field, ideally Nursing, or any other related field.

  • 2-5 years of proven success in similar role, specifically within capital equipment.

  • Knowledge of the OR environment and surgical workflows.

  • Communication: Good presentation skills and the ability to communicate technical and financial data to management and customers.

  • Good network of existing relationships with customers.

  • Fluent English is a must.
