You will manage the coordination of all aspects of the Quality Management System within the Catano Global Logistics Center (GLC) and the Caribbean Distribution Center located in Catano. This position is responsible for attainment of metrics, facility goals and ensuring Behavior Based Quality initiatives are implemented within the organization as well as compliance to Puerto Rico, US state and federal regulations through the deployment of Baxter quality policies. In this role you will manage through issues without the benefit of onsite supervision. Must demonstrate effectiveness in task completion, decision-making, empowerment of others, exception management, training, problem solving and team leadership. A functional understanding of FDA requirements, ISO standards and the general Baxter QMS is required. This position requires the candidate to be a licensed Pharmacist.

What you'll be doing

• Serve as the Catano GLC Quality Head and is responsible for deployment of the Baxter Quality Policy at the site
• Manage activities of the Quality organization which provides oversight and daily management of all elements of the quality system (e.g. CAPA, Management Review, Internal Audits)
• Understand and ensure conformance to state and federal regulations applicable to the sale and distribution of pharmaceutical product. This involves registration actions at the state level that requires the role to assume responsibility for the actions of the site. Violations of state regulations are punishable by law.
• Primary member of Site Leadership Team and responsible for creation and execution of business plan, lean and MIP initiatives
• Collaborate with Operations and Fulfillment leadership to manage day-to-day operations, new business partner integration projects, process enhancements and implementation of new technology.
• Act as the primary interface for all regulatory inspection or customer audit activity
• Identify and manage continuous improvement projects with the objective of achieving quality, reliability and cost improvements
• Provide mentorship and coaching to subordinates to ensure ongoing development.
• Candidate must be willing travel and support other sites and functions across the US Fulfillment organization
  

What you'll bring

• BS in science or engineering or licensed Pharmacist
• 5+ years in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering in a regulated industry required with management/supervisory experience
• Licensed Pharmacist is required
• Thorough knowledge of applicable procedures, specifications, regulations and standards.
• Ability to lead a team of employees
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal/communication/influencing/negotiation skills
• Strong project management skills
• Working knowledge of FDA Regulations and Application of Good Manufacturing Practices
